This could be new experience for someone who hasn't been around tea culture before. The concept is rooted in the Song Dynasty's tea and Zen philosophy, combined with the Japanese Shinto idea of 褉(みそぎ/ misogi), a ritual of purification that ultimately evolves into わびさび(wabi-sabi), this is a way of seeing beauty in imperfection. I worked with arching branches to shape the glow of the movement, moss to ground the piece in quiet earthiness, orchid for a soft stillness, and anthurium for a subtle of color. Set in warm wood vessel it brings to the entire space. The composition balances movement and calm was what I want to make it look like. I also share with my client the idea of (一期一会 いちごいちえ)that means the belief every encounter happens only once and honoring the present moment is itself a form of peace.
